How to be a positive prinny

Hi Prinnys,

Happy Tuesday, I love bank holidays the week does fly in!

Anyhow about a year and a half ago I was a completely different person I had no job, no drive or ambition! I kept getting job interviews but never the job and I think everyone would agree with me that this is such a confidence knock. I was after putting on loads of weight (I blame relationships lol) so I felt horrible about myself and I just felt down in general. No 'get up and go' in me as my ma would say lol.

After starting college in September last year, everything quickly fell into place, I was in college doing something I loved, got a job and started my very first '8 week challenge' all in the space of a month. Safe to say things quickly changed for the better.

Here are my top 5 tips on how to be a 'Positive Prinny' and why. I'm no preacher and believe me I have my bad days (like everybody) but this is what I gathered from personal experiences and I use these tips everyday to help me stay positive and happy.

  •  NOTHING is permanent! So when you're going through a hard time don't panic it won't last forever. I know from personal experiences it's very hard to see light at the end of the tunnel but give time 'time' and deal with it. If you want to lie in bed all day and cry do! or if you want to go to the gym for the day do that! I think having goals and focusing on things works out much better than dwelling on something bad that has happened so I,d go for option 2 haha and always remember you are the only person who can help yourself.
  • It's all about who you surround yourself with. (This is my FAV) if you spend your days with negative Nancy's they will drain you. They will zap every ounce of good vibes from your body and you will soon be a negative Nancy. People can easily bring you down so it's very important to surround yourself with people who are positive, make you feel good and who genuinely love, care and motivate you.
  • Don't compare yourself to others. Facebook = Fakebook! It took me way too long to cop this one. just think about it I've never wrote a  status about something miserable that has happened have you? we highlight all the brilliant things that happen on social media. Everybody has problems and everybody goes through shit so never look at somebody else and wish you were them. I have to keep telling myself this one especially when it comes to weightloss, you see people who loose 10 stone in a year and keep it off for life. But that's their journey and this is mine. Everybody is different.
  • Be grateful.  'How can you be happy with more if your not already happy with what you have' its so true and would really make you think. If you have a loving family, a house and food on the table you are blessed! I was blown away with the support from everyone after I posted my weight loss blog last week so a huge thank you to all you lovely people.
  • Last but not least and MOST IMPORTANTLY be happy! You could be the most positive person on the planet and you would still have a cry sometimes. You could be the fittest person in the world and still have a spicebag sometimes. That's life we are humans at the end of the day.  Don't take life too seriously none of us are getting out alive.
Hope this helps.
Love,
Danielle x

Did you ever just have one of them weeks like all you want to do is lie in bed, cry, eat everything in sight and watch a stupid love film (I'm so predicable haha) but you can't because 1: you're in work and 2: you're on a diet. Well it was one of them weeks.

About a year and a half ago I went through what id call 'a hard time'. I hadn't got a job, I would get loads of interviews

End of the 8 week challenge

I cant believe I'm writing this post already like whatttt? where did them two months go? I cant deal. I wish they went slower so I could lose more haha.

I know I said Id write a blog post half way through the 8 week challenge but been completely honest I wasn't giving it my all. My head wasn't in it 100% it was only on the 4th week when me and my 2 friends booked Ibiza for next summer I had to give myself the 'Pull yourself together' talk. I've went away every summer with my friends since I was 17 and I'd never let having a bit of weight on me stop me. (Nobody should) But Ibiza? STOP! that's a whole different ball game haha.

I decided to start personal training, I've been going to the gym for a year now so I knew I needed to step it up because my body was getting too used to the classes and it needed a shock. Ive done personal training once a week for the last month on top of going to the 8 week challenge every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Not gonna lie the personal training wasn't easy but its definitely
worth it. I started to go jogging too on Tuesday's when I could so to be fair in the exercise area i was trying my best.

However you know the famous saying 'Abs are made in the kitchen'. My diet wasn't great,  Monday to Friday ye it was brilliant but the weekends it wasn't. I'm constantly torn between wanting to be good and staying in but then I feel sorry for myself and say to myself ah you re only 22 go out and enjoy yourself! It's not even the drink that's the bad part it's coming home drunk and deciding ye wanna make a crisp sambo you wake up to next morning to your Ma screaming about the crumbs on the stairs haha and not forgetting getting counting down the hours til the curry shop opens at 5 the next day lets be honest we've all been there. The struggle is real.

Ive come to terms that I'm always going to have watch what I eat so I just need to learn how to balance it out.

Anyhow I didn't do too bad I'm actually happy with my results even though I didn't do amazing it just means I'm one step closer to my goals and that's what it's all about baby steps ☺️

I lost 6 pounds. I lost 5 Cm's from my stomach, 2 cms from my waist and thighs and 1 and a half from my arms.

Here is my before and after picture.

Make up all day errrday

Last Tuesday my blog reached 1.5K views before I start with the MUA talk I just wanna say a big thank you to everybody, it took me weeks to pluck up the courage to finally start a blog and just a little over a month later I'm seeing them kinda numbers it's cray! So thanks again.

Anyhow I was asked would I write a blog about how to do a everyday make up look. I generally wear a brown smoky eye when I'm wearing make up during the day, This is just a basic look, Its very simple to do!

here's a before and after picture.

Here are the products I used to create this look. (excuse the worn down Inglot pallet but that thing is my baby)

I start of by using MAC strobe cream as a base, I use a tiny bit and apply it like moisturizer this is just too make my foundation look dewy and not cakey. I use MAC studio fix foundation in NC 35 and apply it all over my face using my stippling brush from Real Techniques

To do my eye shadow I use the freedom pallet from Inglot these are my favorite eye shadows there only 6 euros each and are really good. This pallet is brilliant for creating different looks. I start off by applying 313 as a base colour all over my lid I then apply 383 into my crease as a transition colour and blend it out be careful not to use too much as the you dont want to end up with two big oranges eyes haha! I then apply 329 on my lid again this is very dark so I only used a small bit. I then take my fluffy blending brush and blend it all out. I apply a small bit of 329 and then blend it out with 383 under my eyes. To do my eyebrows I use 329 and a angled brush.

I like to have my eyes dark and dramatic if you want something more natural id recommend using 360.

To finish my face I used to Inglot loose powder under my eyes. I then used the Bourjois eye shadow in no.16 as a bronzer and finished off by applying a bit of sparkle dust on my cheek bones. I used MAC spice lip liner and MAC honey love lipstick on my lips.

Heres the link to my Facebook and Instagram page, I post everyday on these feel free to follow me while you're there. If you just double click and press 'Go to link' It,ll bring you straight to my page.
