My Weight Loss Journey

Hey Everyone, (I really need to stop saying this)

So here's my first weight loss blog . . I feel more nervous now writing this post than what I did writing my first one so please be nice.

I have always been over weight from as far back as I can remember it never bothered me in the slightest. Diets and excersize never fazed me I was too busy enjoying my teenage years (6 bottles of 'wickaa' please).

When I was in 6th year I said to myself I need to lose weight for my debs so the first week in January I started a 'diet' and I went walking for an hour every night. My diet consisted of a small yogurt, a cup of soup and a baked potato everyday so I was basically starving myself. After the first month i lost a stone and a half i couldn't believe it. By April i had lost 3 and a half stone. Its only now looking back on pictures i realize how much i actually lost.

The picture on the left is at the 6th year retreat in October 2010 and the picture on the right was my leaving cert results night in August 2011.

After a while i started falling back into old habits and i was up and down in weight constantly. It was only last October when i started a 8 week challenge in my local gym 'D-Top Fitness Clondalkin' that i finally got back on the band wagon and i haven't looked back since. The gym completely changed my body shape, too many people are obsessed with weighing scales when trying to loose weight (including myself) but if your working out its better to focus on loosing inches rather than pounds that way you'll never get disheartened.

So anyhow the summer is always a real struggle for me and it was even harder this year. After spending 5 weeks abroad i put on half a stone, which wasn't too bad considering what i was eating and drinking haha, now the holidays are over I'm ready to give it 100% again.

Im starting a new 8 week challenge tomorrow and I'm so excited to get stuck back in and feel healthy again. I'll be writing a post on my 4th week and on my 8th week. On my 8th week I'l be posting an 'after' picture and talking about my diet and how i got on etc.

So here is my before picture i took earlier. (excuse the sour puss face lol)

If anything i hope this post encourages people to get fit and healthy, remember summer bodies are made in the winter.

During the week a person who I didn't know told me they read my blog and I was chuffed.

Anyhow this was just a quick post to say a big thanks to everyone for their support, I got some lovely messages all week.

I'm off to the Osprey for two nights to act the 'Prinny' that I think I am.

Sweating for likes (Literally)

Hey Guys!

Happy Friday ☺️

So my blog on Tuesday was about been a finalist in the INGLOT Addict competition and since Tuesday I've been doing everything in my power to get people to like my picture. At the moment my picture has 707 likes but other girls have 1200 or more it's crazy!

I decided to give up today as I went to my cousins debs for the day so I new I wouldn't be at my phone much, I knew it would be impossible to catch up with the other girls and then I thought to myself it's a shame the competition isn't about how good the make up is rather than how many likes the person is able to get.

Anyhow I was delighted I made it to the final, and I want to say a big thanks to everyone who voted and shared my picture everyone has been so nice!

Hope everyone has a fab weekend

Possibly the best Tuesday ever

Hey everyone,

So after my post yesterday about Moldova I was over the moon going to bed as I seen somebody in Moldova read my blog ahhhh omg. Everytime I check my 'stats' the numbers just keep going up and I'm feeling so blessed and grateful at the moment so thank yous.

Anyhow since it was such a fabulous day myself and my friend Rebecca went out to Dun Loaghaire the plan was to get scrumdiddlys but after seen the que the plan changed haha the ques do be crazy and I think scrumdiddlys is so over rated.

We went to the forty foot for dinner and a drink instead.

When I came home from the beach I had an email from Inglot Ireland to say I had been one of the finalist for their Inglot addict competition I was thrilled.

The comp is running until Friday and there's over 60 girls in the final. The picture with the most likes win. The prize is amazing and id probably die if I won. I'm just delighted I made it to the final anyways.

Here's the picture I used

I'm going to post the link below if anyone would like to vote for me id be so grateful all you have to do is like my picture and make sure you like the Inglot page.

Volunteering in Moldova

Hey Everyone,

Happy Monday and all that jazz! I can't believe the amount of views my blog got already it's amazing I couldn't wait to write more today haha. Hopefully yous will find this post a lot more interesting.

So in June myself and my friend Shauna traveled to Moldova to volunteer there for a month.

In July 2013 I volunteered to go to South Africa and it was one of the best experiences of my life. So when Shauna asked me did I want to go to Moldova I didn't even think twice!

Although as it got closer the time I was so nervous I had never left home for a month before and I'm a bit of a home bird. There was so many thoughts in my head but I decided to suck it up and on the 17th of June off we went ☺️

We stayed with a host family in a block of apartments, they were so nice to us and couldn't of been more welcoming. They couldn't speak English at all so it was hard at first. I always wanted to live in 'The Flats' for some weird reason but when the lift doesn't work after a certain hour and you come home drunk and have to climb 9 sets of stairs you quickly change your mind!

We started our Romanian language lessons the next day, this was possibly the funniest thing about Moldova I just couldn't get the hang of it and I sounded so funny, we did 10 lessons and learned the basics hello, how are you? Goodbye etc. I was so proud of myself when I finished the lessons, I never in a million years thought I'd be learning Romanian.

We worked in a day care centre for children with disabilities. A lot of the children had autism. Everyday me and Shauna would go to the day centre and join in on whatever the kids were doing. They played games and had DVD time. Nobody could speak English so there was a big language barrier this made it hard but some how we managed to build a real good relationship with the children and I miss them everyday.
I have no even words for the night life in Moldova it was crazy haha. A 70cl of vodka was €2.50 and a bottle of wine was only €1.20 honestly I don't know how I came back alive! We went out most
weekends with other volunteers and we always had a good/random night.

We made millions of friends in Moldova there were volunteers from all over the world. I loved hearing everyone's story how they ended up in Moldova and what they did at home and what they were studying in college.

The month went so quick and before we knew it, it was home time. I couldn't wait to get home and see my family and friends but at the same time I was really sad leaving my Moldova family, the day centre and the volunteers.

If you are young and want to travel and your scared, one bit of advice id give you is to just do it. Dont think too much into it. You will not regret it. I defiantly don't regret my two experiences and I have 100's of memories that i'l remember for the rest of my life.

"Travel while your young and able, don't worry about money just make it work"

My First Ever Blog!

Hey Everyone,

So for the past few
weeks now Ive been thinking about starting up a blog, and what better day to do it than on a Sunday (nothing else to do) haha.

Im ok with computers etc but Im finding this whole blogging thing a bit confusing but exciting at the same time eeeekk.

So here it goes . .

My name is Danielle Im 22 and Im from Dublin, Im a fully qualified make up artist and have a passion for all things girly. Over the past year I have become obsessed with bloggers and my two favorites are of course the famous SoSueMe also known as Suzanne Jackson and Faces by Grace23.

These two are what got me thinking about blogging i cant go a hour without watching their snapchat story and their lifestyle amazes me. It was only the other day during a Q&A that SoSueMe answered the question 'any tips for new bloggers?' she said 'Just do it!' So thats exactly what im going to do.

I will be blogging about things such as make up, beauty products, fashion and just things in general such as travelling and my weight loss.

Looking forward to seeing where this journey takes me.
